What are cookies?
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep, and can read back on your next visit. Some are indispensable — without them a site cannot remember that you are logged in, or which language you picked. Others exist to count visitors or to follow them between sites for advertising.
Browsers offer other storage of the same kind, such as local storage. It is not technically a cookie but it does the same job, so we list it here too rather than hiding behind the distinction.

Used to understand which pages are read and where visitors come from. Nothing is loaded and no cookie is set unless you accept the analytics category. If you decline, the scripts are never fetched at all.

Used to measure advertising campaigns and to show our ads to people who have visited this site. These are the cookies that follow you between websites. Nothing is loaded unless you accept the marketing category.

Cloudflare Turnstile
Anti-spam check on the contact and trial forms. Runs without asking for consent because without it the forms are harvested by bots within days — the legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping them usable. It may set short-lived Cloudflare cookies and it receives your IP address.

Nothing optional runs until you say so. You can change or withdraw your choice at any moment — withdrawing is exactly as easy as giving it, and the page reloads so anything already running stops immediately.

Who receives the data, and where it goes
The site itself runs on servers in Frankfurt, Germany, and the messages you send us are delivered through our business email provider. Our own staff and the IT suppliers who maintain the site can access the data.
Some of the services above are provided by companies based in the United States: Mapbox for the office map, Cloudflare for spam protection, and — only if you consent to them — Google, LinkedIn and Meta for analytics and advertising. Where data reaches them, the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the safeguards those providers publish.
If you decline the analytics and marketing categories, none of the advertising or analytics providers receives anything about your visit.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, and receive a copy in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting what was lawful before you did. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
